How I almost lost $22,000 in 2 hours, in my very 1st webinar, 10 years ago because of my fear of technology

-Biba, I'm afraid of technique, I don't know where to start.

-Biba, I've made my free gift but I don't know how to make my capture page to promote it.

-Biba, I don't know who to turn to do my sales funnels.

-Biba, I'd like to automate my business like you teach us, but I don't understand how to set up sales funnels.

-Biba, I'd like to do my 1st webinar, I've got the title, content and slides but I don't know how to make my capture page to launch registrations.

This is what I regularly hear among my clients or even when I do free IMPACT strategy sessions. And that's just a small sample...

Yet I'm always advising people to delegate. Because if you don't know how to do it, don't like to do it or don't want to do it, it's obvious that you still have to get someone else to do it for you, if you really want to develop your business faster.

Websites don't really have much point anymore. It's a bit like taking your A-levels - you've got to have one, but it's useless, because it's not a site that brings you customers.

On the other hand, if you want to have a successful online business today, you can't do it without sales funnels, or knowing how to use social networks. We need capture pages to promote our free gifts or get leads for our workshops, webinars, challenges and so on. And we need to know how to communicate via RS and emails, to attract people to our offers.

If you're afraid of technology, I understand because I've been there.

Today, I'm no longer afraid of it, I know how to manage what I have to do on a daily basis, but I still don't like it. And because I have 3 seconds' patience, if I'm going to try something new, I'm not going to take the time to look at lots of tutorials.

But I also know that if I don't do it, I have to get it done. Because here's how I almost lost $22,000 in 2 hours in 2014, when I launched my 1st online training course in France.

How I almost lost $22,000 in 2 hours in 2014, when I launched my 1st online training course?

Webinars were already common in the US, and I kept backing out of launching mine. But then I realized that several marketers in France were starting to do them, and that's when I told myself that if I didn't start now, I'd be left behind.

Not only did I need help making my capture pages, which I'd already figured out and had a freelancer who'd been doing it for me for several years. Webinars, on the other hand, terrified me. So I'd been putting it off for over a year, until one day I decided I couldn't put it off any longer.

So I hired another freelancer to show me how Go To Webinar worked back then. He charged me $800, which sounded like a lot, but I knew I was losing money if I kept doing nothing.

The $800 included 2 hours of training, plus his presence during my 1st webinar, in case of technical problems and to answer chat questions, so that I could concentrate on my content.

On the day of the webinar, things got off to a bad start, as the France/US time settings hadn't been set correctly, and registrants received an email at 1pm in France warning them that we'd be starting in 1 hour. The webinar was scheduled for 8pm France time.

I arrived at my computer in Miami at 9am for me, or 3pm in France, and saw an avalanche of emails, and discovered the problem, plus the fact that everyone had received a 2nd email saying “sorry, you've missed the webinar”.

AAHHH, panic on my side, especially as I had 600 registrants, with many affiliates promoting with me. Once I'd come to my senses, I contacted my freelancer to recreate a new room in Go To Webinar with the right time this time, and sent an email to everyone with the new link.

As a result, that evening I made $22,000 in sales in 2 hours, which was a first for me at the time. And, I did a 2nd webinar 15 days later and made $10000 again.

So even though I found that $800 was quite an investment, I've never regretted it, because if I'd stayed with my fear of technology and said to myself “it's too complicated, or too expensive, I'm not doing anything”. Not only would I not have earned that $32,000 in 15 days and 2 webinars, but I still wouldn't be doing a webinar today. And it's not $32000 that I would have lost, but hundreds of thousands of euros over the last 10 years.
