How to develop your personal branding via social media

The first step to successfully creating a strong personal brand on social media is to answer the question for your followers, “Who are you?” In other words, what value are you bringing in your message, and why is the content of your posts relevant to your audience?
If you have a strong personal brand, which takes time and effort in building, your voice has a value. When you promote something, people go for it. The bigger your brand value, the bigger the money. With more thoughtful and engaging posts you provide, the more people will find interest in your message and, in return, the more they will follow you back.
Personal branding is merely a way of selling yourself, and it’s never been more important, thanks to social media. Social media has given us a platform to broadcast our personal messaging to accomplish our goals. It’s fair to say that my personal brand was born on social media.
Furthermore, people want to do business with other people, not with companies. Putting a strong personal brand on the frontline of your sales process can dramatically improve conversion rates.
Social media can be a powerful marketing and positioning tool as you grow and manage your career. For this reason alone, it makes sense to approach the online conversation with a strategy to keep your presence and activities focused and intentional. Your personal brand is not a tagline or an ad campaign. It’s a combination of your interests, beliefs, ethos, values, talents and skills, among a number of other characteristics.
You can use your own brand to build awareness and spread the message of your issues and organizations through social media and the connections you make. Every good brand involves the notion of expertise. Embrace this age of social media and let everyone into your life. Run a blog or website that is all you. It doesn’t matter if it’s not your first priority, or even your second priority, but it gives people a place to develop a stronger connection with you
Determine what you want your brand to be.
This is the most basic step and can often be the hardest. When people search for you online, what do you want them to find? How are you unique? Luckily there are plenty of online resources to help. Make sure your social network profiles are up-to-date with work information and skill sets Post interesting articles and start conversations on Twitter. Update your LinkedIn with that great job accomplishment. Regularly update your website or online resume.
Social sellers should never stop building their personal brand. Attract more interest, opportunities and business through your online activities. However, once you establish your brand identity, the possibilities are endless.
By branding yourself you can make money in more ways than any of us can probably imagine.
